Driving Impact through Advocacy
At Marsh Solutions, our vision is a world where all nonprofits are engaged in advocacy and participate in social change. We’re here to provide you with the tools, skills, and ongoing services to do just that.
The Importance of Nonprofit Advocacy
Advocacy is the most significant way that nonprofits can expand their impact. It can change systems and provide resources to improve communities on a broad scale. Advocacy is also a tool to educate policymakers about community needs so they can adopt thoughtful, effective public policy.
What exactly IS nonprofit advocacy?
Nonprofit advocacy is a nonprofit’s public support for or recommendation of a particular social cause or public policy. Contrary to popular belief, nonprofits can (and should) advocate! Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization can advocate by asking legislators to pass or change a law (direct lobbying); mobilizing the community to influence legislation (grassroots lobbying); and educating the public and policymakers about a social issue.
